What is a Forum Poster?
A forum poster is a user that actively participates on forums / discussion boards. A forum poster will create and submit content in the form of posts. The submitted posts can either to start the topic, or add to an already existing thread. The posts that a forum poster creates can be in the form of a question or an answer, or just part of the general discussion within a forum.
How to Hire a Forum Poster
Use quality posts, seriously! It's a system that persuades forum posters to create quality content. You can choose from a range of forum posters, view the posters statistics from posting on other forums, ask the poster to show you examples and white list or black list certain posters when ever you want. But if you are looking into hiring a posters from some other site, at least try to reduce the damage they might do by following these hiring tips:
1) Ask The Forum Poster For Examples of Their Posts
Without using Quality Posts, it's not easy to prove that the examples they show you are actually from them. However, if the forum poster can show you examples, at least this helps establish an agreement of the target posts intended to be created on your forum.
Using the Quality Posts system, its easy to prove that forum posts were submitted by any given forum poster. Each posts that goes through the system can be privately viewed and shared between users. These internal audited posts contain administrator comments, a submission time stamp, the forum posters users name and the quality posters user name.
2) Check The Size of Their Posts
Apart from faking activity, small posts are often unhelpful when creating content for your forum. If your forum is in its early stages, you will first need to relevant content. If the forum poster creates small posts, it gives the search engines and users very little information to establish what the forum is about. High quality forum posters should create posts with a large amount of interesting content that is both discussable by other forum members and gives search engines content to crawl.
If posts are submitted thought the Quality Posts system, the posts are automatically graded on content size. Forum posters will find it less effort to gain points for large posts that is considered high quality, and may gain no points at all for small insignificant forum posts.
3) Confirm that your aims are the same as the forums posters
As mention, if you are starting a new forum, and you want to increase long term activity, you will need a large amount of quality content submitted to the forum. This content should not only be relevant to the forum niche, but should be content written with search engines in mind, and helpful as well as debatable to the forum users. However, many forum posters will want to write the smallest amount of content as quickly as they can to earn as much as they can with the minimum effort. Confirm this is not the case, make sure that the forum posters intentions aren't to answer as many posts as quickly as they can. The key here is quality content, faking activity is pointless if there is very little organic traffic from search engines.
4) Minimum Payout For a Post
If the Forum Poster asks this question, you should immediately consider not hiring this poster at all! If the poster asks what the minimum pay is, what they're really asking is "can I get away with writing the minimum amount of content at the lowest possible quality and still get paid, if so, how much will I get paid". That should not be the type of forum poster you would want to hire for your forum. Aim to hire forum posters that write high quality posts. Forum posters that write high quality posts will not ask this question, but they may ask the maximum price and the expected size and type of the highest paying posts.
5) Original Content
Confirm with the poster that they will write only original content which is their own work and not copied from other sites. Don't just take the forum posters word for it, but confirm this too! If they have created forum posts with a large volume of content, search for long phrases in that posts, and make sure there are no other posts that could be flagged by search engines and users as duplicate.
When posts are submitted through the Quality Posts system, Quality Posts does this automatically for you. When ever a forum post is suspected as being duplicate, the forum admin is automatically sent a message with the suspected original content.
How Much Should You Pay Forum Posters?
There's an old phrase that I like to use from time to time "pay peanuts, get monkeys". And expect to attract monkeys when you pay forum posters so little for the content they add to your forum. If you want to attract high quality forum posters, you will need to pay a little more than you may have originally intend to pay.
I'm not saying that you should pay lots, even for the most insignificant posts, on the contrary. Do not pay forum posters anything for small insignificant posts, in fact make this intention clear before you hire a forum poster. However, pay well for high quality content, give forum posters an incentive for creating high quality forum posts, even go as far as giving forum posters a bonus where they have achieved reputation for their forum posts.
Using the Quality posts system, when posts are less than 300 characters the posts are automatically given a rating of 0.5 stars out of 5 and the forum poster receives no points for this post. The forum administrator can modify this rating if they wish, but giving the poster nothing for insignificant posts is an incentive to post more content. The more content the forum poster submits per post, the easier it is for them to gain points.
So how much should you pay? First establish Rapport with the forum poster, make sure they understand your niche area, get examples of their work and pay as much as you would for small articles. Quality Forum posters are worth every penny if they create relevant content that introduces natural organic traffic to your forum.
